Dinner On The Farm  events, created and facilitated by Monica Walsh, are family-fun events that also celebrate local farmers. The farm dinners usually begin at about 5 pm with a farm tour, followed by a relaxed social hour, and of course great food prepared by some of the best chefs in the Midwest. The menu is produced from both ingredients grown on the site and complimented by other locally produced foods.

On August 5th the event was held at Dave’s BrewFarm. A farm that brews beer is unique even in Wisconsin, the home of many small breweries that benefit from our great, pure waters. Dave producers 2 commercially-available beers, BrewFarm Select, an easy drinking golden lager, andMatacabras, a Belgian ale. He also experiments crafting beers with ingredients like dandelions and hops from his own garden.

Tyge Nelson, the talented chef from Chino Latino restaurant in south Minneapolis, prepared the dinner from scratch using Shepherd Song leg of lamb on the grill marinated with dried lemon, mint, and marjoram; flat bread made as we watched with humus and Baba Ganovsh; wood-fired tomatoes with persillade and other amazing food choices. Beer, wine and fresh lemonade were sampled as local talent performed live music.

There are more amazing and fun events coming up. Check the Dinner On The Farm website for upcoming events, photos, blog, frequently asked questions and more.
